Brantford, ON – Brantford Transit will launch new timetables and route changes on Sunday, January 11, 2026, affecting commuters, students and shift workers across the city.

According to the City of Brantford’s “Transit Route Changes” page, the most notable change is the rebranding of Route A as the Telephone Line, providing two-way service between West Brant (Shellard Lane) and Lynden Park Mall. Route A will add a stop at Costco and the first weekday trip from Shellard Lane to Lynden Park Mall will depart at 5:40 a.m.

The overhaul also introduces Route 21, the Tollgate Line, which will provide a direct link between Lynden Park Mall and the Northwest Industrial Area (NWIA) so passengers can travel across north Brantford without going downtown. Route 2 will be removed; portions of its service will be replaced by Route A and by limited Route 21 service originating at Lynden Park Mall.

Other updates include earlier first trips on several routes (as early as 5:15 a.m. on Route 9), 30‑minute weekday frequency on core corridors such as Routes 4A and 4C until evening, new downtown stops including the Beckett Building (served by Routes 5 and 9), and a published holiday-season schedule covering Dec. 24, 2025–Jan. 2, 2026. These changes are intended to shift the network away from a downtown hub model toward faster point‑to‑point connections.
