The Aquatarium in Brockville, Ontario, is hosting its fifth annual Mermaids – Enchanting Encounters program from Saturday, March 14 to Sunday, March 22, 2026. This year’s event features a carnival theme with underwater performances and surprises designed to bring families to the downtown area during March Break.
The event is a major draw for the community, with the City of Brockville previously seeing up to 20,000 visitors during this season. According to Brockville Tourism, more than 30 local businesses are participating in an adventure pass that offers discounts and themed activities at shops and restaurants throughout the city.
Families can book special animal experiences with beavers and otters for $110 plus tax. These sessions, featuring resident animals like Justin Beaver, are for children aged six and older and include a meet-and-greet with a mermaid and general admission. According to the Brockville & District Chamber of Commerce, the week begins with a fundraising gala on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Parents should be aware that strollers, handcarts, and trolleys are not allowed on the exhibit floor during the event to help with the flow of visitors. The facility will provide a free stroller parking area and a coat check for guests to use while they explore the aquarium.
The money raised from the ticketed activities and the gala goes toward animal care and educational programs at the discovery centre. This annual tradition helps support the non-profit facility while providing a seasonal activity for local residents and tourists.
