Brockville, ON — On December 6, 2025, Brockville Police Service arrested a 24‑year‑old woman after a welfare check in a downtown parking lot found her unconscious and partly hanging out of the driver’s side window. According to local police, officers recognized the woman after she initially gave a false name and arrested her on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with probation conditions.
Police say they were called to a parking lot near Parkedale Avenue and Stewart Boulevard at about 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 6. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a quantity of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia and took the woman into custody.
She was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert, who determined she was impaired by drugs. She is charged with operation while impaired by drugs, possession of fentanyl, and obstructing a peace officer. The woman was released with a future court date.
Her vehicle was impounded and her driver’s licence suspended, according to police. Under Ontario administrative penalties for suspected impaired driving, such measures commonly include a seven‑day vehicle impoundment and a 90‑day administrative licence suspension.
The incident underscores the role of Drug Recognition Experts in Brockville as police confront an increase in fentanyl‑related impairment cases in the region.
