Michael Barrett, the Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, visited the BGC South East STEM and Education Centre in Brockville, Ontario, on March 7, 2026. The visit highlighted the organization’s new programs that teach local children skills in science, technology, engineering, and math.
During his visit, Michael Barrett spent time with local youth and took part in a coding lesson using robots. This activity allowed the MP to see firsthand how the centre helps students learn modern technology skills through practical, hands-on experience.
BGC South East has recently expanded its services into the Brockville area to provide more after-school and weekend options for families. The organization focuses on providing sports, arts, and literacy programs to help young people grow and succeed in their community.
The launch of the STEM and Education Centre is meant to address a need for specialized learning programs for local youth. By offering these services, the club aims to provide children with barrier-free access to important educational tools and supportive mentors.
