The City of Burlington, Ont., declared a Snow Event beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, suspending all on-street parking across the city. Snow Events are triggered under Burlington’s policy when residential accumulations reach 7.5 centimetres (the City may also declare events in advance based on forecasts); the declaration means no on-street parking is allowed until the City declares the event over.

City officials warned that vehicles left on the street during the Snow Event may be ticketed ($120) and towed at the owner’s expense. All parking exemptions and on-street permits are invalid during a Snow Event.

Residents who cannot fit vehicles in their driveways are encouraged to use municipal parking lots, but overnight parking in surface municipal lots is not permitted between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. during and after a Snow Event unless otherwise specified. If a vehicle has been towed, owners should contact Service Burlington at 905-335-7777 to locate it.

The City issues Snow Control Updates to subscribers (typically at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. during storm events) to notify the public about snow-clearing progress and when the Snow Event is lifted. Residents can also view the City’s plow tracker (burlington.focus511.com) to see where plows have been operating.
