The City of Burlington, Ontario, has mailed out the first property tax bills of 2026, with the first payment deadline arriving on February 23, 2026. This mailing affects almost every homeowner in the community and helps cover the costs of local services like road maintenance and emergency response.

Residents have two specific dates to remember for these early-year payments. After the February deadline, the second installment will be due on April 23, 2026.

Property owners can pay their bills through online banking, by using the Property Tax Portal, or by using drop boxes at City Hall. Those who prefer automatic withdrawals can also set up pre-authorized payment plans through the city website.

If a bill has not arrived in the mail, homeowners should contact the city tax office at 905-335-7750 to check their balance. Residents who have their taxes handled by their mortgage company should be aware that a $12 administration fee applies to those accounts.
