The City of Burlington, Ontario, has mailed out interim property tax bills for 2026, with the first payment due today, February 23, 2026. These bills help fund local services like road repairs and public safety before the final tax rates are set later this year.

Property owners have two dates to remember for these interim payments, with the second installment due on April 23, 2026. According to the City of Burlington, anyone who misses a deadline will face a late payment penalty of 1.25 per cent on the first day they are behind.

This year, residents will see a total tax increase of 4.49 per cent. As outlined in the 2026 budget, this amount includes costs for city services, regional programs, and local schools.

Homeowners can now use the new Property Tax Portal to view their accounts online, print statements, or sign up for paperless billing. If you have not received a bill in the mail yet, you should contact the tax office at 905-335-7750 or by email at propertytax@burlington.ca.
