Several young athletes from the Burlington Soccer Club (Burlington Bayhawks) in Burlington, Ontario, have been invited to the 2026 Ontario Soccer Provincial Screening Competition (PSC). The club announced the invitations were sent in late January 2026 for players to take part in the PSC, the gateway to the Provincial Xcel Program.
The invitations cover Boys U14–U16 (birth years 2010–2012) and Girls U14–U17 (birth years 2009–2012). The PSC events will be held at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan (Woodbridge) on the following screening dates: U15 Boys — Feb. 28, 2026; U15 Girls — Mar. 1, 2026; U16/U17 Boys — Mar. 7–8, 2026; U16/U17 Girls — Mar. 14–15, 2026; U14 Boys — Mar. 28, 2026; U14 Girls — Mar. 29, 2026.
According to Ontario Soccer’s Talented Player Pathway, players are detected primarily through ongoing scouting in the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) or League1 Ontario, or via the Talent on Location Day (ToLD) Player Recommendation Process for players outside those competitions. The PSC is run as 11v11 matches in which invited players are divided into teams and observed by provincial and national scouts so coaches can benchmark performance and compare players directly.
Final Provincial Xcel team rosters are typically announced in late April 2026. Players selected for the final squads will have the opportunity to compete against teams from other provinces in May as part of inter-provincial competition.
Burlington Soccer Club said the invitations reflect the players’ hard work and the strength of the club’s development pathway. For comment from families or individual players, contact Burlington Soccer Club’s technical staff.
