Residents in Burlington, Ontario, will have their garbage and recycling picked up one day later than usual during the week of February 16, 2026, due to the Family Day holiday.

This shift means that pickups normally set for Monday will happen on Tuesday, with the final collections for the week finishing on Saturday, February 21. This change affects garbage, green carts, and blue boxes for every household in the city.

The Halton Region waste management site on Regional Road 25 will be closed on Monday, February 16, and will resume its normal operations the next morning. While the region still handles garbage and green bins, Circular Materials took over the management of residential blue box recycling in January 2026.

According to the City of Burlington, paper calendars are no longer sent to homes by mail. Residents should check their personalized schedules through the regional online waste tool or mobile app to avoid missing their adjusted pickup time.
