Two 17-year-old males from Milton are in custody after being charged in connection with three separate carjackings that took place in Milton and Burlington on March 27, 2026. The Halton Regional Police Service arrested the two teenagers on March 30, 2026, following an investigation into the violent spree.
The incidents began at approximately 3:50 p.m. in Milton, near Derry Road and Farmstead Drive. According to police, two masked suspects approached a driver and forcibly removed him from his vehicle before driving toward Burlington. Shortly after, two more carjackings occurred in Burlington: one at Britannia Road and Walkers Line at approximately 4:40 p.m., followed by another at Cedar Springs Road and Britannia Road only minutes later.
Investigators confirmed that all three drivers were forcibly removed from their vehicles. One adult male victim sustained serious injuries during the interactions. No weapons were seen or used during any of the thefts, and police have successfully recovered all three vehicles. One suspect was apprehended at the scene of the second Burlington incident at Britannia Road and Walkers Line, while the second suspect was arrested later that evening.
The two accused teenagers, whose names are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, face a series of serious charges. The first individual is charged with robbery, theft of a motor vehicle with violence, and disguise with intent. The second individual faces multiple counts of robbery, theft of a motor vehicle with violence, and disguise with intent, as well as a charge of dangerous operation causing bodily harm. Both remain in custody while awaiting bail hearings in Milton.
This event follows recent data showing a drop in overall auto thefts across the region. According to information provided by the Halton Regional Police Service, there were 77 vehicles reported stolen between January 1 and March 6, 2026, compared to 191 during the same period in 2025. Despite this downward trend, authorities continue to highlight the ongoing issue of violent carjackings within the Greater Toronto Area.
The investigation is being handled by the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau. Anyone with information regarding these events is encouraged to contact the police or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
