The Waterloo Regional Police Service is asking the public for help after a theft took place on Conestoga Boulevard in Cambridge, Ontario, on February 14, 2026. The incident happened around 5:00 p.m. on Valentine’s Day in a busy shopping area.
Officers are looking for surveillance footage or receipt information from nearby businesses and residents to help identify the people involved. The theft involved property worth less than $5,000 and happened at a time when many people were out for holiday shopping.
Conestoga Boulevard is a major spot for local shoppers and is home to large stores like Zehrs Markets and RONA+. Police are hoping that digital evidence from these types of locations or from personal security cameras will provide leads for the investigation.
This request comes as retail crime in the region increased by 36 per cent between 2023 and 2024, with more than 4,200 cases reported. To help solve these crimes, the police launched CAMSafe in May 2025, which is a list where residents can register their security cameras to assist with investigations.
