Camrose County, Alberta, is looking for construction companies to build an addition to the maintenance shop at the West Dried Meat Lake Regional Landfill. This project aims to improve how the facility maintains its heavy equipment on-site, which will help keep waste services running smoothly for residents in the area.
The local government issued a call for companies to both design and build the expansion at the landfill site near Ferintosh. This project offers an opportunity for local contractors to secure municipal work, with bids accepted until April 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
The landfill is operated through a partnership between the county and the City of Camrose. It also serves other nearby communities, including Wetaskiwin and Lacombe, and recently finished building a new waste collection cell in 2025.
Expanding the shop will allow staff to repair large machinery directly at the facility rather than sending equipment elsewhere. This upgrade is expected to reduce the time machines are out of service and ensure more reliable garbage and waste operations for the region.
