Crime severity in Camrose, Alberta has dropped for two consecutive years, according to the Camrose Police Service’s latest crime figures.
The 2025 Crime Severity Index results show violent crime in the city remains below the Alberta provincial average. The department also reports that a higher percentage of reported crimes are being solved in Camrose than the provincial average.
“Crime severity has declined for two consecutive years,” the police service stated. “Violent crime severity remains below the Alberta average. More reported crimes in Camrose are being solved than the provincial average, helping provide accountability for offenders and answers for victims.”
Province-wide, Alberta’s overall Crime Severity Index decreased 6.6 percent to 90.6 in 2025, the lowest level since 2014, according to Statistics Canada.
Inspector John Corbett, who oversees operations including front line patrol and the major crimes unit, credited the partnership between officers and residents for the positive results, describing Camrose as “a safe, caring and resilient community.”
