The Camrose County council met on February 10, 2026, in Alberta to approve new safety measures for rural roads and move forward with a major wastewater project for Ferintosh. These decisions were part of regular meeting highlights that explain how the local government is managing infrastructure and community safety.
To improve safety near a rail crossing, councillors voted to lower the speed limit from 80 kilometres per hour to 50 kilometres per hour at the intersection of Range Road 200 and Township Road 462. The county also approved $500,000 to begin the engineering and design work for a wastewater lagoon in Ferintosh.
In other business, the council turned down a request from the Silver Creek Water Management Area committee to change how money is collected for drainage ditch maintenance. This means the current system of collecting funds from landowners for these repairs will stay the same. The council also updated their official meeting rules to match current provincial laws and wording.
Residents will soon have an opportunity to share their thoughts on local crime and policing through informal discussions. The information gathered from the public will be shared with the RCMP to help them set their priorities for the community in the future.
