Organizers for the 2026 Canmore Highland Games have set the event for Sept. 4–6, 2026 at Centennial Park and opened online ticket sales with early-bird bundle pricing, the Malcolm Scottish Society announced. By releasing dates nearly two years in advance, the society said it aims to help visitors, vendors and local tourism operators plan for the busy Labour Day weekend.
The 2026 games will feature two full days of heavy sports, Celtic music and food tastings, and organizers say a possible Friday evening kickoff would further extend the multi-day format introduced in 2024. Tickets for individual events and all-access bundles are available now through the official Canmore Highland Games website.
The event typically draws more than 5,000 visitors and provides a key boost to Canmore’s hospitality sector each year. Local hotels and restaurants in Canmore and nearby Banff use the games to anchor their end-of-summer bookings.
“The Highland Games draws more than 5,000 visitors to Canmore a year and it celebrates the unique Scottish heritage of the town,” said Frank Kernick, president of the Malcolm Scottish Society. “The Highland Games have become an integral part of our community identity over the years — and a well-loved event at the end of the summer,” said Mayor John Borrowman.
