The Canmore Public Library is rolling out a week of free community programs from July 29 to 31, offering Canmore, Alberta, residents of all ages a chance to connect, learn, and try something new without spending a dime.
Sylvan Storytimes kicks things off on Wednesday, July 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Friends Program Room. This drop-in event welcomes families with children of all ages for stories and fun.
That same evening, adults can unwind at a Crafting Social Night. The library invites grown-ups to bring their own projects or try a new craft in a relaxed, social setting.
On Thursday, July 30, the library opens its doors for Chess Night. Players of all skill levels are welcome to drop in for a game or two, meet fellow chess fans, and enjoy some friendly competition.
Friday, July 31, offers two distinct programs. In the morning, preteens can embark on a Dungeons and Dragons adventure with Adventures From the Feywild, a one-shot campaign running from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Registration is required, and with 10 of 12 spots already taken, interested families should act quickly to claim one of the two remaining seats.
Later that afternoon, free Tech Tips and Tutoring will be available at the front desk. Library staff will be on hand to answer questions about devices, apps, or other tech challenges, no appointment needed.
The library, located at 101-700 Railway Avenue inside Elevation Place, has been a community hub since 2013. All programs are free, reflecting the library’s mission to remove financial barriers and create welcoming spaces for everyone in the Bow Valley.
