Canmore Collegiate High School is hosting a career fair on March 25, 2026, to connect students with more than 35 local employers in Canmore, Alberta. This event aims to help students find part-time, summer, and full-time jobs while addressing a local labour shortage in the tourism and service sectors.
The fair takes place in Picard Hall from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with grade 11 and 12 students attending in the first hour and grade 9 and 10 students following in the second hour. Parents are welcome to join their children at the event by signing in at the school office.
Organizations like Parks Canada, the Fairmont Banff Springs, and the Banff Lodging Company will be available to talk with students about job possibilities. The school recommends that students bring printed resumes if they are actively looking for work during the fair.
While the main event is running, the school theatre will host talks from professionals in healthcare, mining, and engineering. These sessions include speakers like Macx Davies, a former Olympic athlete and school graduate who now works as an engineer, and mining professional Jim Bachmann.
This event is part of a broader program by Canadian Rockies Public Schools to provide career guidance and work experience to students. Local employers are focused on hiring youth to help fill gaps in the workforce caused by high tourism and changes to federal rules for foreign workers.
