Le Fournil Bakery, a local spot for European-style breads and pastries, is closing its doors in Canmore, Alberta, after 14 years of business. The bakery will serve its final customers on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Located at 101-1205 Bow Valley Trail, Le Fournil Bakery has been a part of the community since 2012. During its time in the mountain town, the shop navigated through significant challenges including a rebuild after the 2013 floods and a change to its business model in 2020.
The closure marks the end of a long-standing staple known for its traditional baking in the Bow Valley region. Local residents have been visiting the shop to share memories and purchase their favourite items one last time before the business finishes its operations later this month.
