The Manitoba Driving Society has opened registration for a two-day Precision Driving Clinic in Carberry, Manitoba, scheduled for May 30–31, 2026. The training is designed for horse owners who want to learn safe carriage-driving techniques and is open to both members and non-members of the society.

The clinic will be held at the Carberry Agricultural Society fairgrounds, a historic site with heritage buildings and facilities used for agricultural and equine events. Organizers say the clinic welcomes equines of all sizes, from miniature horses to large draft breeds.

Registration reportedly opened on February 1, 2026; organizers say about half of the available participant slots were filled as of early February. Those interested are encouraged by the Manitoba Driving Society to register soon through the society’s website to help ensure sufficient one-on-one time with instructors.

Participants will receive hands-on instruction in practical skills such as proper harness fitting and routine safety checks on equipment. The Manitoba Horse Council describes driving competitions as comprising presentation/dressage, marathon and obstacle driving; elements such as obstacle navigation and cone work are commonly practiced in precision driving clinics.

The Town of Carberry has a long history of hosting agricultural events — the Carberry Fair dates back to the 19th century — and this clinic continues that tradition by emphasizing safety and technical skill. Organizers hope the event will give local horse owners new ways to bond with their animals outside of traditional riding.
