Prairie Mountain Health has released an updated schedule for the emergency department at the Carberry Health Centre for April 2026. Residents should be aware that these hours remain subject to change based on daily staffing availability.

The Carberry Health Centre is a 10-bed acute care facility that also includes 36 long-term care beds, serving approximately 6,000 residents in the Municipality of North Cypress-Langford. The emergency department previously closed for nearly nine months beginning in September 2023, following the expiration of a physician contract. The service reopened on May 10, 2024, after the recruitment of three physicians to work on a rotating basis, a move that followed a campaign commitment by Premier Wab Kinew.

According to Prairie Mountain Health, which is one of five regional health authorities in Manitoba, staffing levels are continuing to stabilize across the region. The organization reports that 32 new physicians have been hired over the past year, representing a 30 percent improvement in the regional physician shortage rate compared to one year ago.

Because emergency department hours can shift on short notice, officials advise residents to check the latest schedule online or call the health centre at 204-834-3333 before visiting to confirm current operations.
