The Town of Carman, Manitoba, posted a construction notice for the McEachern Bridge on February 26, 2026, announcing upcoming work that will change traffic patterns and may limit the types of vehicles allowed to use the crossing.

Homeowners living near the bridge should expect more noise than usual and temporary changes to how they get to their properties during the project. Drivers of large service vehicles and farm trucks may need to use different roads if the town sets new weight limits for the crossing.

Along with the bridge work, the town issued a safety warning about ice hazards on the Boyne River on February 26, 2026. This project is happening while another road is closed for work on a concrete bridge in a different part of town.

These maintenance projects are part of an effort to look after the river crossings that the community depends on for travel and business. Local drivers are encouraged to follow all detour signs and allow for extra travel time while the work is being finished.
