The Boyne Regional Library in Carman, Manitoba, is inviting residents of all ages to help create a large community mural during a drop-in colouring event on February 19 and February 20, 2026. This free activity provides a simple way for families and individuals to take part in a public art project during the winter months.

Participants can stop by the library at 15 1st Ave SW to add to a massive shared poster using provided crayons, markers, and pencils. There is no cost to join, and the library is providing all the necessary supplies so that everyone can participate without needing to bring their own materials.

The event runs on Thursday, February 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and continues on Friday, February 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No registration is required for the session; participants can spend five minutes or up to two hours contributing to the collective artwork.

Sandra Yeo, Head Librarian, is the lead coordinator for the project. The library’s mission statement says the initiative supports “building a strong community by promoting literacy and life-long learning… and connecting people to each other,” reflecting the facility’s role as a modern community hub for residents (Town of Carman/Library materials).

This initiative is part of a broader effort by local organizations to offer low-barrier social activities for the public. The finished mural will serve as a community-made decoration for the library once the two-day event is complete.
