Residents in Carman, Manitoba, are preparing for periods of snow on March 5, 2026, as a new weather system moves into the region. According to Environment Canada, the area is expected to see snowfall throughout the day and into the night.

The forecast predicts a daytime high of -7°C with temperatures dropping to a low of -15°C overnight. This follows a windy Wednesday on March 4, 2026, where north winds of 30 km/h were expected to gust up to 50 km/h, creating wind chills as cold as -20.

The upcoming snowfall may lead to slippery roads and lower visibility for drivers and farmers. The Prairie Rose School Division typically monitors these road conditions to decide if bus routes across the region need to be cancelled for the safety of students.

To help with road maintenance, the Town of Carman reminds residents to keep their vehicles off municipal streets overnight during snow events. This allows local plow crews to clear the streets more effectively for the community.

The new forecast comes just days after southern Manitoba experienced highway closures and travel disruptions caused by blowing snow in late February 2026.
