The Municipality of Casselman has posted a free public skating schedule for the J.R. Brisson Complex running from to May 12, 2026, with regular family-friendly sessions on Sundays and Tuesdays — a handy, low-cost option for local families looking for winter activity.

The municipal announcement, posted on the Municipality of Casselman’s website on December 14, 2025 (municipal event page), lists Sunday sessions starting at 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday sessions starting at 11:00 a.m. The event page for “Patin libre” (free skate) says Sundays run 2:00–2:50 p.m. and Tuesdays 11:00 a.m.–12:20 p.m., while the municipality’s Classes & Activities page lists slightly longer end times (Sundays to 3:00 p.m. and Tuesdays to 12:30 p.m.). The town directs skaters to its online calendar and social updates for the latest times.

The sessions take place at the J.R. Brisson Complex, 758 Brébeuf St. in Casselman; the facility is the town’s principal indoor recreation hub and home to other year‑round programs such as stick-and-puck sessions and the Casselman Figure Skating Club. Municipal notices emphasize that the activity is free and family-oriented — strollers are welcome and skate helpers (the little frames kids lean on) are available.

A bulletin on the town site reads: “⛸️ Free Public Skating! ⛸️ From September 9, 2025 to May 12, 2026 at the J.R. Brisson Complex! Schedule: 🎵 Sundays: 2:00 – 2:50 PM 🎵 Tuesdays: 11:00 AM – 12:20 PM 👨👩👧👦 A great family activity for all ages! Strollers welcome & skate helpers available. Come out, have fun, and enjoy the ice! 📧 More info: inforec@casselman.ca” — Municipality of Casselman (municipal event page).

The free sessions are part of a broader municipal effort to promote accessible recreation at the J.R. Brisson Complex, where the town posts seasonal programming and facility bookings. That push includes listings for lessons, club activities and other drop-in sports on the municipal calendar and facility pages.

Families planning a visit should check the town’s facility calendar or social channels for any last-minute changes, since the municipality’s own pages show slightly different end times for sessions. For questions or confirmation, the Recreation and Leisure Department can be reached at inforec@casselman.ca or by phone at 613‑764‑3139 ext. 221, according to the town’s parks and facilities information.

The free skate offering gives neighbourhood families a low‑cost way to get on the ice this fall and winter without booking or fees — a simple option for a few hours of active, indoor fun.
