According to the CKPS release:
– A 34-year-old Chatham woman linked to a 2024 drug investigation was located in the downtown area (header location: King St. W.). The original investigation began on January 2, 2024, when officers responded to a call for service at a business on St. Clair Street and, during that matter, quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, individually packaged, were located. The accused was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, was released with a court date of Feb. 26, 2024, failed to attend court, and a warrant was issued. The release states she was later located while on patrol and was arrested on the outstanding warrant; the release lists the arrest with a Jan. 8, 2026 timestamp and says she is being held pending a bail hearing.
– A 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested following a traffic stop at the intersection of Park Street and William Street South on Jan. 7, 2026 (approx. 23:41 hrs). Officers found the man in possession of a BB gun and a knife in breach of his court-ordered conditions, which the release specifies include a life-long prohibition on possessing firearms, crossbows, restricted weapons, ammunition and explosive substances. He was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and is being held for bail.
– A 54-year-old Chatham woman was connected to a credit-card theft and fraud investigation that was reported to CKPS by the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police after stolen cards were used in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent on June 13, 2025. Surveillance footage identified the accused making unauthorized purchases at a gas station in Tilbury. She was charged with fraud under $5,000, use of a stolen credit card and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. She was arrested on July 17, 2025, released with conditions and a court date of Aug. 25, 2025, failed to attend court and a warrant was issued; officers located and arrested her on Jan. 7, 2026 (approx. 02:27 hrs) and she is being held for bail.
The release notes that two of the matters involved outstanding bench warrants for failing to attend court. The Chatham-Kent Police Service statement closes by noting its commitment to community safety and reminding the public that all arrested individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
