Discover Churchill is adding a new excursion called Colours of the Tundra from September 1 to September 14, 2026, to give visitors a chance to see polar bears, beluga whales, and the Northern Lights all at once in Churchill, Manitoba.

The seven-day package includes two boat trips to see whales and three wildlife tours in 4×4 vans. It is priced at $7,495 per person, which covers all taxes and return flights between Winnipeg and Churchill.

The tour operator is offering these specific dates to attract more visitors during the quieter weeks between the busy summer whale season and the late autumn bear season. By having guests stay in local hotels rather than remote lodges, the tours are designed to support businesses and guides directly in the community.

The trip also includes a town tour and a hike to the SS Ithaka shipwreck during low tide. The company says this timeframe offers a rare opportunity to see the autumn colours of the subarctic plants while wildlife is still active in the area.

The company, led by photographer Alex de Vries, operates on Treaty 5 land. This region is the traditional territory of the Cree, Dene, Inuit, and Métis people.
