Monday will feature a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm, along with northwest winds of 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h. By Tuesday, the sun is expected to break through, pushing the high to 21°C. The real warm-up arrives Wednesday and Thursday, with sunny skies and highs of 25°C and 26°C, respectively—slightly above the June average high of about 23°C for the area.
The pleasant conditions will be short-lived, however. Friday will bring showers and a high of 24°C, followed by a cloudy Saturday with a high of just 20°C and a 60 percent chance of showers both Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday looks even cooler and wetter, with periods of rain and a high of only 15°C. June is typically the wettest month in Coaldale, averaging about 35 mm of precipitation, so the rainy weekend fits the seasonal pattern.
As of noon Monday, conditions at the Lethbridge Airport weather station, which serves Coaldale, were mostly cloudy with a temperature of 14.6°C, humidity at 59 percent, and northwest winds of 25 km/h gusting to 42 km/h. The forecast suggests those winds will ease as the week progresses.
For residents making outdoor plans, Wednesday and Thursday offer the best opportunity to enjoy the summer warmth and sunshine before the unsettled weather returns late Friday. The extended daylight—sunrise around 5:23 a.m. and sunset near 9:42 p.m.—gives plenty of time to take advantage of the mid-week break.
