Coaldale’s Summer Fest has released the full afternoon lineup for its McCain Stage on Saturday, August 8, giving festival-goers a complete run of free entertainment to plan their day around. The stage, set up on the grass at 2016 19th Street in front of John Davidson School, will feature five acts from noon until 5 p.m.
The Lethbridge Community Taiko Association opens the show at noon with a blend of traditional Japanese drumming and contemporary western influences. At 1 p.m., Sonic Multimedia takes over with a DJ set, followed by a dance performance from Dance Images at 1:30 p.m. The Coaldale-based studio has been teaching dancers of all ages for more than 28 years.
At 2 p.m., Madison Young brings a belly dance fusion set to the stage, offering something different for the crowd. Sonic Multimedia returns at 2:30 p.m. to wrap up the afternoon with more music until the stage closes at 5 p.m.
The McCain Stage is presented by McCain Foods, a major supporter of the festival. The Kinsmen Club of Coaldale, which has been backing community needs since 1950, is also a key sponsor and runs the Kinsmen Beer Garden and Movie in the Park during the festival.
Now in its fifth year, Coaldale Summer Fest runs from August 6 to 9 in Coaldale, Alberta. The free Saturday entertainment at the McCain Stage gives families a full afternoon of live music and dance to enjoy as part of the larger festival.
