The Cochrane Public Library in Cochrane, Alberta has launched a holiday fundraiser running from December 2 to December 24, 2025, inviting residents to “decorate the library tree” by purchasing ornaments that support library programs. The campaign aims to raise $3,000 to refresh and replenish book club kits used by local reading groups.
Donors choose from four ornament tiers—$5 for a bulb, $10 for a ball, $20 for a sock and $50 for a star—and can personalize their ornament with a name or message before it is hung on the library’s festive tree. Ornaments will be displayed on the library tree from December 2 through December 24. (The campaign page notes tax receipts are issued automatically for gifts of $20 or more.)
Proceeds will go toward restocking and refreshing book club kits, which are collections of multiple copies of high-demand titles (typically 10+ copies) and include discussion guides for community reading groups.
“This holiday season, you can help make our Library’s holiday tree shine brighter while supporting a great cause,” the campaign announcement says. “Together, we’ll make this holiday season extra special for our Library and community.” (Source: Cochrane Public Library holiday fundraiser announcement.)
