The Town of Collingwood, Ontario, announced a series of community events to mark International Women’s Day. The local schedule includes a signature speaker event, a flag-raising ceremony, and a campaign to highlight female business owners. These activities are designed to celebrate the social and economic achievements of women while promoting gender equality in the community.

The theme for this year is Give to Gain, which focuses on how collaboration and generosity can help everyone succeed. A main event — described by the Town as “an inspiring evening” — is set for March 4, 2026, at the Simcoe Street Theatre. According to the Town of Collingwood, the evening will feature a keynote speaker, a book signing, and networking opportunities for residents.

A community flag-raising ceremony will be held on March 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Flag Pole at the Collingwood Public Library (55 Ste. Marie St.). The Town has traditionally lit the Town Hall Clock Tower and the CWOOD sign purple in past years for International Women’s Day; the Town’s 2026 IWD page does not explicitly confirm illumination dates for 2026.

The Downtown Collingwood Business Improvement Area is returning the Woman Behind the Business campaign, placing posters in storefront windows to tell the stories of women entrepreneurs in the downtown area. Local groups such as My Friend’s House are also participating to help raise awareness and support for women and girls in the region.
