Residents in Collingwood, Ontario, have several free and low-cost ways to celebrate the Family Day long weekend from February 14 to February 16, 2026. Local groups and the municipal government are hosting workshops, swimming, and community gatherings to provide extra entertainment and shopping options close to home.

On Monday, February 16, the Town of Collingwood is offering free admission to the local museum. Families can pick up free ice suncatcher kits while supplies last, and the Centennial Aquatic Centre will hold free public swimming starting at 8:00 AM.

Other weekend activities include a performance of the play Love Letters at the Simcoe Street Theatre on February 13 and 14. Theatre Collingwood is presenting this production, featuring local community members on stage.

Member of Parliament Terry Dowdall is hosting a community skating event for families to enjoy during the long weekend. These gatherings across the community are designed to provide affordable leisure options for residents before the upcoming March break.

Local shops in the downtown core are also preparing for more visitors and foot traffic. Businesses like Gordon’s Market & Café are offering 10 percent discounts on groceries and hosting community meetups to encourage people to shop locally during the holiday.
