The Town of The Blue Mountains has issued a public notice that a temporary lane restriction will be in place on Highway 26 at 209707 Highway 26 in Craigleith on December 29, 2025. Enbridge Gas crews are expected to be on site during daylight hours (typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) to complete utility work, with traffic reduced to a single alternating lane controlled by flaggers.

The restriction is located about 1 km west of the Grey Road 19 intersection, the primary access to Blue Mountain Village and the resort. The Blue Mountain Village Association (BMVA) shuttle services and resort-run guest shuttles are expected to face delays of roughly 15–20 minutes. Guests checking in during the typical late‑afternoon check‑in period (around 4:00 p.m.) at the Westin Trillium House and the Blue Mountain Inn should allow extra travel time.

Village restaurants and shops have been advised to schedule heavy‑vehicle deliveries before 7:00 a.m. or to use Grey Road 19 and Grey County Road 119 (County Road 119) as alternate routes. The Town’s public notice is posted on its website to help motorists plan around the work.

This stretch of Highway 26 has seen recurring utility repairs in past winters and is a known congestion point near the Grey Road 19 junction. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is conducting Class Environmental Assessment and design studies for intersection improvements and potential widening of sections of Highway 26. Motorists are reminded to obey flaggers, stay alert and expect delays during the busy holiday period.
