Local musicians and residents are gathering at the Goldfinch Arts Centre for a community open mic on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The event in Colwood, British Columbia, is organized by the Arts & Culture Colwood Society to provide an open stage for artists of all skill levels to share music and poetry.
According to the City of Colwood, the sign-up list for performers opens at 6:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The performances start at 6:30 p.m. and run until 8:30 p.m. in the modern gallery space located at 170 Goldfinch Road.
The Arts & Culture Colwood Society hosts these sessions every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Organizers say performers are typically allotted about 10 to 15 minutes each (depending on sign-up volume), and the venue provides microphones and a basic PA system; artists are asked to bring their own instruments.
The evening is meant to be a relaxed way for neighbours to enjoy local talent. There is no set admission fee, although a suggested donation of $5 is requested. Organizers say the goal is to create a welcoming space where both student musicians and experienced performers can test out new material for a friendly audience.
