Residents in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador, can look forward to the return of Winterfest, which the Town of Conception Bay South lists as running Friday, February 6 through Saturday, February 14, 2026. The multi-day festival brings the community together for outdoor skating, hockey tournaments and indoor social events at several municipal facilities and parks.
Highlights include the Shield hockey tournament at the Robert French Memorial Stadium and public skating at the Conception Bay South Arena. Families can also visit the CBS Community Park, which features a refrigerated outdoor rink — part of the town’s combination refrigerated rink and splash pad — allowing ice activities even when temperatures are milder.
The celebrations follow a major winter storm on February 2, 2026, that prompted the Town to close all municipal facilities earlier that week. Town officials say Winterfest is intended to bolster community morale and support local businesses and craft vendors as people come out to enjoy the events.
The Town’s event listings say other activities include snowshoeing and local craft markets, with scheduled events listed through February 14, 2026.
