Families in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador, gathered for a free day of outdoor games and community activities on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The Family Fun Day took place at the Richard Parsons Memorial Field (Parsons Rotary Clubhouse, 1706 Conception Bay Highway) as part of the town’s Winterfest celebration.
The Town of Conception Bay South worked with students from the College of the North Atlantic’s Community and Therapeutic Recreation (CTR) program to host the event. These students, who are training in therapeutic and community recreation, helped run activities designed to include people of all ages and physical abilities.
From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., residents participated in outdoor play and connected with local community support services. The event provided a local option for families to enjoy the festival at no cost while getting to know their neighbours.
The Winterfest festival ran Feb. 6–14, 2026, with various activities across the community. Events like the Family Fun Day are held at the Richard Parsons Memorial Field to encourage residents to stay active and connected during the winter season.
