Residents in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, can watch a new local play on January 30, 2026, that explores the secret history of how the province became part of Canada.
The Rotary Arts Centre is hosting the production of Don’t Tell The Newfoundlanders at 7:30 p.m. in its 95-seat theatre located at 5 Park Street. The evening will include a live performance followed by a question-and-answer session where the audience can talk about the show and provincial identity.
The play is based on historical research by Greg Malone about the political moves made before the 1948 vote to join Canada. Local interest in this topic has remained high after a recent documentary series investigated claims that some of the biggest decisions were made in secret.
Tickets for the show are available to the public online or at the door on the night of the performance. The arts centre is wheelchair accessible and can be reached using the elevator located at the City Hall entrance.
