The Corner Brook Winter Carnival committee has released its official 2026 poster, marking the final countdown for the 10-day festival in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The reveal of the new design establishes the visual theme for the community as the event prepares to launch its 53rd year later this month.
Organizers are using the new branding to help residents and local businesses get ready for the celebration, which runs from February 20 to March 1, 2026. Printed versions of the poster will be distributed across the region at the Corner Brook Civic Centre, City Hall, and local shops such as Colemans and Tim Hortons. The committee is also sharing updates and event details through its Facebook Page as the festival approaches.
The official event booklet and festival materials note that the visual identity helps promote the sale of “Carnival Buttons.” These buttons serve as admission passes for many sanctioned activities and are the primary way the group raises money for fireworks and free community events at Margaret Bowater Park.
The winter festival dates back to 1964 and continues to feature the popular mascot, Leif the Lucky. Long-time performer Dave Elms, who traditionally portrays Leif and leads the opening ritual in which the mascot emerges from a winter hut, has been central to that ceremony over the years.
