Families in Cornwall, Ontario, can take part in free outdoor and indoor nature activities during March Break on March 17 and March 18, 2026. These events are hosted by the River Institute and the Raisin Region Conservation Authority.
The sessions run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Cooper Marsh Visitors Centre, located just a few minutes from South Lancaster. The marsh covers 673 acres and includes more than 10 kilometres of boardwalks and nature trails for the public to use.
These are drop-in sessions, which means families do not need to sign up or register before they arrive. The program is open to children along with their parents or caregivers who want to learn about the local environment.
Visitors can participate in interactive science experiments inside the centre or join guided tours outside. Activities include tracking local wildlife, birdwatching, and learning how to identify different types of trees during the winter season.
This initiative offers a low-cost way for residents to get outdoors and learn about the St. Lawrence River ecosystem. The organizers designed the workshops to be accessible to everyone in the community looking for local education options.
