On December 17, 2025, the City of Dauphin posted new snow-clearing notices on its Local Notices page warning of parking bans and short-term lane closures through December 18 to help clear roads after a provincial release warned that blizzard conditions were expected.

The notices declare mandatory parking bans in Snow Zones 1 through 5 starting December 17. Crews will begin plowing priority routes such as Main Street and the downtown core, then move into residential streets. Vehicles left in banned areas risk ticketing or towing under the city’s Snow Clearing Policy.

A progress update released December 18 (posted on the morning of Dec. 18) says snow-clearing efforts have shifted from main arteries to windrow removal in neighbourhoods. Residents can expect short lane closures and delays while plows work curb-to-curb.

The provincial release warned of gusty winds, blowing snow and significant accumulations; some forecasts called for 10–20 cm of snow in parts of southern Manitoba. Dauphin Public Works began clearing streets at 11 p.m., prioritizing the downtown business area to minimize disruption before moving to residential zones following the three-day garbage collection schedule.

Drivers are asked to monitor CKDM radio or the city website for updates and to move vehicles promptly to avoid fines. For more information, contact Dauphin Public Works at 204-622-3202.
