The Parkland Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual General Meeting on December 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Dauphin Legion in Dauphin, Manitoba, where members will elect new board directors and review the chamber’s financial statements. The chamber circulated a detailed agenda and the previous meeting’s minutes to members via social media and email in advance.
Among the items up for approval are the treasurer’s report and a summary of revenues from initiatives and publications such as the Parkland Now magazine (specific figures will be provided in the treasurer’s report). Members will also vote on filling vacant seats on the volunteer Board of Directors that guides local business programming.
This year’s meeting carries added significance as long-time Executive Director Stephen Chychota has announced he will step down after a decade leading the chamber. The departure was reported in January 2025; Chychota was expected to remain in position until early May 2025. During his tenure he led the chamber through the 2021 regional rebrand, expanded business supports and labour-market initiatives in 2024, and helped launch the Parkland Now publication to showcase area success stories.
The chamber, formerly known as the Dauphin & District Chamber of Commerce, rebranded in October 2021 to reflect its wider Parkland membership of about 300 businesses. Board members work closely with the City of Dauphin’s Economic Development office on events such as “State of the City” and “State of the District,” and new directors will help shape those partnerships in 2025.
All chamber members in good standing are encouraged to attend the AGM, participate in the election, and review the financial and governance information provided. Members with questions about nominations or the financial review are encouraged to contact chamber staff or the board ahead of the meeting.
