Dauphin Recreation Services has opened registration for Winter 2026 swimming lessons at the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre in Dauphin, Manitoba. Registration opened on Monday, Dec. 29 at 6:00 a.m., and programs run through January and March. Families can choose a 10-week Saturday track from Jan. 10 to Mar. 14, or two Monday/Wednesday sessions from Jan. 12 to Feb. 17 and Feb. 23 to Mar. 25.

This season’s program fee is $100, a $5 increase from the Winter 2025 fee of $95. The dossier notes the increase is likely tied to rising operational costs (labour and pool utilities/chemicals), but DRS has not published a direct, detailed line-item explanation attributing the increase specifically to certified lifeguards or pool maintenance.

Lessons follow the Lifesaving Society’s ‘Swim for Life’ curriculum and have historically filled quickly once registration opens.

The Kinsmen Aquatic Centre — historically home to Manitoba’s first indoor wave pool (the wave pool is currently listed as closed) — features a 150-foot waterslide and a four-lane, 25-metre main tank. The facility remains a popular spot for recreational lessons and for competitive groups such as the Parkland Gators Swim Club. In past seasons, registration slots were taken within hours of the portal going live.

Parents can sign up online through the DRS ActiveNet registration portal (see the swimming lessons listing on ActiveNet) or in person at the Credit Union Place front desk.

Under DRS policy, ‘If your child has taken the same level twice within a 12-month period at the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre and has not completed that same level, we will provide a free 30-minute private lesson.’
