In Dauphin, Manitoba, the Watson Art Centre has added a late‑season holiday concert to its SimpleTix schedule: Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys will take the stage on December 20, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
Presented by Dauphin’s Countryfest and Performance Promotions, “Goodness Gracious, It’s Christmas!” brings original holiday songs, traditional bluegrass numbers and ’50s‑style rockabilly covers.
Jake Vaadeland is fresh off a 2025 JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year and a 2025 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award for Alternative Country Album. His “Retro Man” persona and high‑energy banjo and guitar work have helped the band sell out venues across Western Canada.
The Watson Art Centre is a provincially‑designated historic building dating to 1904–1905. Originally built as the Dauphin Town Hall, the solid brick building with its prominent square tower is noted for its clear acoustics and remains a cultural hub for the Parkland region.
Tickets are on sale now through the Watson Art Centre’s SimpleTix portal; local fans are encouraged to book soon.
