Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School (DRCSS) in Dauphin, MB will host a grand opening for its new school theatre on January 12, 2026. Tickets for the inaugural event go on sale December 20, 2025.

The new theatre replaces the school’s former multipurpose ‘cafetorium’ and the standard classrooms previously used for performances. The professional-grade, state-of-the-art performance space will host school productions, music recitals, assemblies and community events throughout the year.

Principal Dwayne Zarichny and members of the Mountain View School Division (MVSD) Board of Trustees will welcome guests at the opening ceremony. School officials have not yet confirmed which student group will present the inaugural performance; the program is expected to include student performances followed by remarks on the facility’s role in school and community life.

School officials say the modern theatre will boost arts programming and give nearly 800 students more opportunities in drama, music and vocational arts. Community groups will also be able to rent the venue, adding a cultural hub to Dauphin’s heritage of festivals and local events.
