MacKenzie Middle School (MMS) will host its interschool basketball tournament on January 15, 2026, at the Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School (DRCSS) gym in Dauphin, MB. MacKenzie Middle School confirmed the venue change to the larger DRCSS facility to accommodate more fans and teams.

Participating teams are expected to include Gilbert Plains Collegiate, Grandview School, Whitmore School and the Grade 7–8 program at Henderson Elementary, though MMS has not published a final team list. Game times have not been confirmed; consult the MacKenzie Middle School or Mountain View School Division (MVSD) pages for the official schedule.

Admission details were not provided in the materials reviewed; spectators should check MMS or MVSD for information about ticketing or fees. Spectators must follow DRCSS facility rules: according to the DRCSS facility policy, “Track is not a viewing or spectator area for the gymnasium, unless reserved for such.” The division’s event policy also notes there is no readmittance for spectators once doors are closed for high-attendance events.

MVSD typically makes operational adjustments for off-site games; in similar events town buses and regional shuttles have been routed to the DRCSS parking lot between roughly 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for athlete drop-off and pick-up. Families should check the MVSD News & Bus Alerts page 24–48 hours before the event for any confirmed route or schedule changes.

January is a peak month for middle school basketball in Manitoba, and moving the tournament to the DRCSS gym gives local “Magic” players and visiting teams access to larger, professional-grade facilities ahead of divisional and provincial championships later in the winter.
