The Watson Art Centre in Dauphin, Manitoba, is offering new Beginner Theatre and Introduction-to-Acting classes for youth and adults, with registration open now for its late Fall 2025/Winter 2026 season. Participants will meet in the centre’s studios and the Johnston & Company Auditorium at the Watson Art Centre, a designated Provincial Heritage Site at 104 First Street NW.
Beginners will learn general performance skills in the “Beginner Theatre” workshop, while the “Introduction-to-Acting” course covers technical foundations like voice projection and script analysis. The sessions are being offered in collaboration with Theatre Amisk and the Dauphin & District Allied Arts Council.
Registration is open through the centre’s ticketing site; check the listing for deadlines, fees and class lengths.
This expansion follows recent youth events like “Stars of Tomorrow” and the return of a revived concert series. The move reflects the council’s goal of promoting the arts through ongoing classes and workshops, and it aims to build a pipeline for performers heading into the annual Dauphin Music & Arts Festival.
