Residents of Dawson City, Yukon, can look forward to a busy February as the community hosts several arts festivals and live-music programming to brighten the winter months. Organizers say these events are intended to offer more cultural options for local families and help support businesses during the traditional mid-winter quiet season.

The (s)hiver Winter Arts Festival returns February 6–8, 2026. The three-day community event features workshops, galleries, installations and performances taking place at multiple indoor and outdoor locations throughout Dawson City; the festival is promoted as a mid-winter spark by the City of Dawson and the (s)hiver Arts Society.

KIAC’s winter schedule also includes a planned headlining performance by Destroyer. The Klondike Institute of Art and Culture (KIAC) promotes the KIAC Ballroom (Dënäkär Zho) as the central hub for its winter programming; however, as of Jan. 26, 2026, a specific Destroyer date for Dawson City is not shown on the artist’s public tour listings. Readers should check KIAC and the artist’s official tour pages for confirmed dates and ticketing information.

Young local filmmakers have until February 1, 2026, to submit work for the Dawson City International Short Film Festival. Yukon Youth submissions are free; the main festival screenings are scheduled for April 2–5, 2026, at KIAC.
