The Klondike Institute of Art and Culture is hosting a live theatre performance titled Lumbar 5, Thoracic 12 in Dawson City, Yukon, on March 14, 2026. The show is a co-production with Pivot Theatre and will be held in the Dënäkär Zho ballroom at 7:30 pm.

Writer and performer Santana Berryman created the piece to tell the story of a father and daughter going on a winter camping trip in the north. The performance focuses on how family members from different age groups try to communicate and find common ground.

The production uses several different ways to share the story, including recorded interviews and shadow puppets. It also features campfire-style storytelling to help the audience connect with the personal narrative.

Ariel Martz-Oberlander directed the show, which includes sound design by CJ McGillivray and puppetry by Benjamin Pilger. This event is part of a year-round series that brings professional performing arts to the local community.

Local residents and art enthusiasts can attend the performance to see contemporary theatre within the region. The show aims to provide the community with direct access to professional storytelling and northern-focused art.
