Residents in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, will gather for a benefit concert and silent auction on Saturday, February 21, 2026, to raise money for those impacted by the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge. The “Support Tumbler Ridge Benefit Concert” is part of a regional effort to help families and survivors following the tragedy that occurred on February 10.

The event will be held at the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre (KPAC) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening will feature performances by local artists, including Breydon Janzen, Dori Braun, and Aaron Marchuk, with entry available by donation. A silent auction will also be held during the event to raise additional funds for the victims’ families.

The fundraiser follows a shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and a private residence that resulted in the deaths of eight victims, including a teacher and five students. According to the RCMP, 18-year-old local resident Jesse Van Rootselaar was identified as the suspect in the attack, which has left the South Peace region in mourning.

Donations can be made in cash or through electronic transfers set up by Lake View Credit Union. Long-term support is being managed through the Tumbler Ridge Community Resilience Fund launched by the North East BC Community Foundation.
