The Peace River Regional District is hiring Field Services Assistants to help maintain regional parks and control invasive weeds starting May 1, 2026. These seasonal positions are based out of the district office in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
The temporary roles will last for four months and involve working with the district’s environmental services department. The new workers will focus on controlling aggressive weeds that can harm local farms, keeping up regional parks, and supporting garbage and recycling programs at local transfer stations.
According to the Peace River Regional District, the work follows a 2025 plan to manage non-native plants throughout the region. This hiring also follows a January 2026 change to how the district funds community spaces like North Peace Park and Inver Johnson Memorial Community Park.
Staff members will be responsible for maintenance at various outdoor sites, which may include Blackfoot Regional Park, Montney Centennial Park, and Spencer Tuck Park.
