Vendor registration for the artisan marketplace at the second annual Cultural Gathering of Nations is now closed, with all booth spaces filled for the 2026 event. Food truck operators can still apply through the event’s website. The gathering returns to the Ovintiv Events Centre in Dawson Creek, BC, from September 17 to 20, 2026.
The four-day celebration, organized by six Treaty 8 Nations, will feature a powwow, a Tea Dance, a hand games tournament, cultural camps, and a cultural marketplace. Admission is free, and the event maintains a drug- and alcohol-free environment for all ages.
Artisans and food truck operators interested in participating can visit the event’s website, culturalgatheringofnations.com, for details on remaining food vendor opportunities. While both 8×8 and 16×16 booths were available for artisans, spaces are limited and have now been filled. Last year’s inaugural gathering drew thousands of attendees, making the marketplace a prime opportunity for local and visiting sellers.
The Treaty 8 Tribal Association notes that over $250,000 in combined prizes will be awarded across powwow, hand games, and bingo competitions. Daniel Desjarlais, event director for the Cultural Gathering of Nations and Events Coordinator for the West Moberly First Nations, has been working with the six host Nations: Doig River First Nation, Saulteau First Nations, Halfway River First Nation, Prophet River First Nation, West Moberly First Nations, and Fort Nelson First Nation.
Founded in 2025 by West Moberly First Nations, Prophet River First Nation, and Halfway River First Nation, the Cultural Gathering of Nations was created to offer a welcoming space for sharing and experiencing First Nations culture. The Ovintiv Events Centre is located at 300 Highway 2, at Mile Zero of the Alaska Highway.
